For nearly two thousand years, theologians and laymen have speculated about“the Antichrist.’’ Dozens of political, military, and religious leaders have been dubbed “the Antichrist.” Usually, he is seen as the embodiment of all evil: a satanic, devious, plotting conspirator who seeks the overthrow of God’s church and along with it the overthrow of democracy and freedom –if not the destruction of all mankind.
